well as of right now i have:
an MTX75 tranny (with the right bell housing)
a garage to work in (car is already there)
plenty of people to help
and the whole front fascia and hood removed for conveinence.

tomorrow (technically this) morning i'm "talking with my parents" about "college and the car" and so i'm sure my plan will meet some resistance, but w/e. i already have a trans that is waiting to be shipped out (still need to find a place that can receive it). hopefully i can also convince my dad to provide "financial assistance" in the form of "direct payment for my engine".

i'll def keep everyone posted in here. when major work gets done pics will be uploaded accordingly. and if anyone has done a lot of research on this swap and has any comments and/or advice, please share.
just a thought... but after you say graduated from college and got a good job in your field wouldnt you I dont know make your own money to do such things like that.....

www.modifiedfocus.com. We've done 2 v6 swaps. A 2.5L duratec swap, and a 3.0L taurus SHO. Ford Racing and ZXtuner have v6 swap cars too. The Ford Racing car was featured in one of the Focus Fanatics magazines. There was also someone else on one of the message boards that was going to do some fancy v6 swap with turbos- the car was disassembled and never finished.

I'd love to pick up a cheap sedan or wagon with a bad engine or tranny to try this on....maybe someday..

Thats what this guy is doing, the main differances in between the svt and non svt motors are the extrude honed uim and for 99-00 the lim was extrude honed as well, the cams are slightly different, tb, intake and thats about it I think. Alot of people with reg contours get those parts and have pretty much a svt motor. Now suspension, mounts, exhaust and looks are different.

ryan's got it right there.

the non-SVT puts down 170hp stock and the SVT lays down 195.

add on a custom intake and exhaust and it'll be a fun little car to drive :)

What year motor did you get, cause the 98's like mine have 195 and the 99-00 have 200 hp.

And for the intake either get a kkm or get a k&n filter, maf adapter. I love my kkm intake.

For the exhaust you can have the resonator replaced with a magnaflow flow through type, delete the mufflers and get some polished tips. Or spend the big money and get a tru-bendz, either way you gain about the same.

The link I posted above also sells msds headers coated for $250.00, before them you couldnt get them for under $600.00. Email them and order a set, they are on back order now but you need to do it while the motor is out of the car.

I would also sudgest you get a 75mm pro m maf and have the car dyno tuned with a sct flasher, you will see BIG gaines with these cars from simple tuning, Nautilis can also do your tuning as Tom is the contour god and tuning master.
