you may want to just grab the csvt ic now for sake of your time also make sure the salvage yard pulled the full harness not just the engine bay side

You know focus-salvage just used a cluster from a Merc cougar it will fit in the dash of a focus but it won't bolt in. That is what he did to make it work in the focus.

Yeah, it has ruined things
Jeremy used a 2.5l duratec cougar as a donor, with a csvt hybrid for intake IIRC.
Badass project but it is a hella lot of work

you need to add FI to that when your done, then it would be sweet.

This is intriguing. When I first saw the thread, I really thought, "yeah, right"... until I saw the pics of the acquired V6.

Anyway, I'm the one who bought the V6 that Jeremy/Ian put together. And, what's even funnier, is that I grew up in Canton, MI. (That's close to Northville). My parents moved back there and I could always use an excuse to visit them... and I could drive my 6 over there and give you some insights.

Off the top of my head - since you have the engine out and accessible, make sure you replace the water pump. Depending on the year, your engine might have a pump with a plastic impeller. Get a new one with the metal blades, instead.

Also consult the wealth of knowledge about the Duratech over at the www.contour.org boards, as they've obviously anything and everything that could go awry with that engine.

Oh - I really, really don't think FI is going to fit in there.

Hope everything goes well!

got a new water pump, was unable to ascertain one with metal impellers, but i got a rebuilt OE one. and i have an account on contour.org. FI would only fit if it was a small turbo, after the Y-pipe if necessary. theres no way a super would fit.
