Help: Model Designations, Body Kits, Production Numbers

Hey all,

Glad to finally be a part of your community. Looking into buying a 2nd gen (05-07) Focus and am trying to study the difference between the S, SE, SES, ST and SVT models. To be perfectly honest, the ZX4 suits me better, so the ZX3, ZX5 and SVTs are not an option for me--looking at the sedans only.

Is the image below the body kit available from the factory on the STs only, or is there some other designation on the car that makes it come "standard" with this front bumper and spoiler?

Also, where can I get a comparison of the differences between the S, SE, SES, ST and SVT model specs and production numbers (like how many SES with 2.3L were produced in 06, for example.)

Sorry for such a broad post for my first, I appreciate the help.

Thanks and look forward to contributing after I get my Focus--it'll be a big change from the restored '69 Mach I I sold a few months ago.

The GFX package, front and rear bumper and rear spoiler can be purchased on any model of focus

Thats the SAP package in the U.S. (Street Appearance Package). Its called the GFX package only in Canada. You can get it on any 05+ focus. S, Se, and SES are the trim options that are available. S is the low end.....likely to have manual locks and windows. Se usually has power windows and locks, and a few other nice features. SES is the top trim package....power everything, sunroof, etc.

The regular models have a 2.0 liter duratec engine, while the ST focus is ford's performance model for 05+ with a 2.3 liter duratec engine. The ST has color matched door handles, side strip, trunk strip, foglight bezels, and upper grill surround, etc. It also usually has most of the options that are found on the SES trim package. The ST also comes with rear disk brakes instead of the drum brakes found on the regular foci. I say your best bet would be to find an ST with the SAP package. They are great looking and have the power to back the looks. Good luck, and I hope I helped some. Welcome to FocusFanatics.com!

So, SVT isn't even making the Focus for 05+? Will it come back with the body restyle for model year 08?

Does the SAP/GFX look the same for 05, 06 and 07? Is the below a vehicle equipped with the SAP?

Thanks for the help--I'd love an ST with a 2.3L, but they're pretty scarce in my area (Kansas City, Missouri area).

I'm from the K.C. Mo. area as well. That blue one doesnt have the SAP package. Look at the front bumper on the red one you posted....thats the SAP front bumper. The blue one has the regular focus bumper. The SAP looks the same for 05-07. Neither of the foci you've posted pics of are ST's by the way. I can tell because of the unpainted door handles and mirrors.

2004 was the last year for the Svt Focus. They were available from 02-04 only. SVT is pretty much history as a whole.....Ford seems to be ditching them all together from what I've heard. Dumb move on their part, but oh well. The Svt focus also only came in hatchback form. The SVT focus will not be making a comeback in 08....in pretty certain about that. Good luck making your focus purchase!

no more svt. not sure if the sap was available in 05 or 06 but should fit. thiscar doesnt have the sap.the easy way to tell is by the side marker. if its kinda square like this one, no go; the sap markers are long. if you want an st tell the dealer thats want yu want and theyll get it one way or another. it may take a little longer to get it. i had to wait 2 weeks to get my zx3 because i wanted an mtx.
