Intercooler Piping

Ok i know this has been talked about before and I believe Tom recomends running 2in from the turbo to the intercooler and 2.5 from intercooler to the TB. Im wondering whats the reasons for doing it that way does it keep the turbo spooled? Also what is everybody on here running? Would i notice a difference if i used 2.5 for everything?

Thanks for you help

the 2 inch to create the most pressure into the ic to accomidate for the pressure loss of the ic and the 2.5 from ic to tb so there is no added pressure drop. I may be wrong though its what i always assumed

I can get Mild Steel Tube (1010) or 16 Gauge Aluminized Steel Tube Wich would be better for the intercooler piping? I was thinking the 1010 because its lighter?

I didnt think it would much matter they guys on fj are saying that the steel will hold heat. But it cant be that bad if your making as much power as you do.
