There's been several threads on it where Jeremy describes what he had to do to swap the engine in. I don't believe the Duratec 6 has the same bolt pattern as the 4 cyl. I don't know either way honestly, typical Ford, it's probably different, but ask around before you get too far over your head.

well I wonder which would be cheaper and give better hp? A 2.4 stroker kit from focus-power or the v6 swap with some mods?

A stock SVT Contour wasn't so much about the engine. It was rated at 195-200 hp at the crank, and 165-169 ft-lbs. A stock 2.3l isn't that far off. Slap a FS turbo on it, and you'll be beyond that engine for so much less work. Or you could go N/A, and be equal HP wise and close torque wise, for not that much work.

Doing a little research, they average about 165/150 at the wheels with a SRI and catback. Very doable with a 2.3l and some not too crazy mods.

It would be cool. But a Focus Sport turbo kit on your ST would be a whole lot easier and faster.

^^^^And still retain a little space for maintenance. That 6 cylinder swallows up the entire engine bay.

Well, if you want to do it for uniqueness, have at it! Nothing wrong with that.
