They don't reach as far as the halogens as the reflectors aren't made for HID's, they act as a large fog light basically.

As for brightness, the camera is set to manual mode otherwise it compensates for the differing amounts of light.

If someone with a stock halogen set up has a camera and wants to take pictures, my settings on the camera were 6mm focal length, f2.8, .77 sec exposure, ISO 100, daylight WB

The HID kit I have uses an H1 bulb at 10,000 Kelvins. They're very nice BMW looking HID's. I bet oncoming traffic doesn't even know it's a focus.

The headlights I have though, aren't the same as in this write up. The light throw for these have an angle that shoots upwards towards the right as to light up the right side of the shoulder. Kind of like this _/ (if that made any sense). Also, the light throw of the HID's on my headlights is very nice and clean. No hot spots that I can see. I'll post pics of my light throw when I get a chance and post it in my gallery, but for now, you can see which headlights I have installed. I painted the insides Liquid Grey.

I paid 150$. It's my belief that the ballasts are refurbished (perhaps from richies with BMW's or Mercedez), and they throw in some new bulbs. Still a good deal though. I've had mine for about 6 months with no problems.
