2000 ZX3 intake manifold, better?

I have a 2000 ZX3. I've been told that the intake manifold on this model is better than other models. Is this true, and why?

yes because it was manufactured with smoother runners, I couldn't tell you how much it will improve your cars horsepower because I have 2000.

I think the general concensus is that its a bit more efficiently designed than the later model, so it flows better.

its better because it has separate runners.

The early 2000 is a one piece that flow better. 2001 and on went to a 2 piece design that was cheaper for Ford to produce. This is how both look and you can see the difference between them:

Haynes manual has good info on removal / instal of the manifold. The vacuum and egr connections are basically in the same place. Just a matter of the wrench time. New gaskets are recommended.

The biggest difference is the early 2000 is a one piece design, which means it can handle boost better and can be "ported" somewhat.

Thats the ONLY reason guys use if for FI.
