HID headlights.

So i had one of my headlights go out on my the other night. I was wondering how the hell i change the bulb in these headlights. Some people have told me to take it to the dealership because it's really hard and other have told me it's simple. well i took the back cap off where the bulb is located, but there's a bunch of wires in there and i'm not sure how to do it and not sure if i want to mess with it because those headlights are really expensive. If someone could please lmk of site or something that has information on them. The headlights are not the normal stock headlights that came on like the zx3's there the High Intensities that came on the later SVT'S. Thanks,

alex

Take the headlight housing all the way out, pop the back cover off, that exposes the ingnitor ballast I believe (little square thing with the "electrical" symbol on it, twist that off, exposes the bulb under the little pins, lift those, the bulb comes out. Not hard. You can get some HID replacement bulbs on ebay for between 50-100 bucks, do a search for D2S HID bulbs -- makes sure you DO NOT touch the bulb glass when putting them back in.

I was also looking for the same headlights for my HIDs because I believe that mine are also about to go out...Is there somewhere else I can buy them at?... and 50-100 is not bad...better than buying the everything with the housing which I believe is like 900 bucks!

when you think about it 50-100 isn't that bad for an HID bulb. A normal halogen bulb will last you around 400 hours, but an HID bulb will last you around 3000. So in the end you pay a little more but not alot.

"awsinc" is the eBay seller that I've bought stuff from a couple times, his name is Albert. Pretty good guy. This is the link to a set of 6000K D2S bulbs which is what I currently have --very good, bright and blue!!!!

That bulb from Ford lists for $206.25 and cost me $142.31, so if you can get one for anything under that, youre doing very good.

Yes, its kind of a pain. If all your tabs are intact, after you put the headlight housing back in you should just leave those out -- its stable enough with just the two.
