Fuel filter problems
There seems to be a rash of fuel filter issues as of late. Some of this is directly related to the states that are using E10 fuel. The state of Maryland has finally "officially" even stated that replacing your fuel filter more often with the "new" fuel is a good idea. Many local shops are reporting MANY fuel filter issues; some as bad as cars not running from clogged filters.
So to help out, if you have basic mechanical skills and a new filter, it is not that hard to do. Here is a link S2 has provided for a while now that should help. http://www.myfordfocus.com/how-to/fuelfilter.htm If you have any top end power issues, or the car just seems to not be running right. I would suggest you try this first, as it is a fairly easy fix. It is also just good maintenence anyway.

I've been Pm'ing with a new member here that having some problems once his engine has been running for half and hour. He listed everything that he's either replaced and repaired and we're still stumped. My point is that I would have never thought he might have to swap out filters again.

Wow, so what is the ethanol doing that is causing the filters to clog faster?
