1/8th mile at natural bridge raceway last night

(i'm not telling you my r/t's lol)

Well, I made 3 passes. first one was against an eclipse. It ran 10.79 while i launched really bad and ran a 10.98, but he redlighted. The second race was against a 1.5l civic running only an air filter and straight cam2 (110 octane). The freakin civic ran a 10.1 and i launched a little better, running a 10.901.. the third time was against an rsx type s (former SVT owner who totaled it . Now this was interesting.. we both launched okay, i didn't spin that much in 1st and he didn't spin at all. Now, I don't know how this happened, but he ran a 10.42 and I ran a 10.71. All in all it was a fun night.. there was a civic hatchback there that ran a 7.73! how depressing.. I thought my buddy in the srt-4 would take him since he was running 9.0's all night, then the honda guy upped the spray and waxed him.

i'm just happy i beat every cavalier out there, including the z24's, since they're always messing with me.. Since i hadn't been to a track in about 5 yrs, my r/t sucked and i had to figure out the best way to launch. Next week at NOPI should be better

peace

Are you revving and then dumping the clutch? I've found that if I feather it a bit off the launch I'll hit the 1/8 in the mid to high 9's.

I tried launching around 4k and feathering, but with the tires i have on there now i do nothing but spin.. it sucks much.. the first run i spun well into second..the other 2 runs i spun less in first, but about the same in 2nd.. kinda started pissing me off that i was spinning hard in 2nd, especially with my fatass in the car (275lbs) lol

I take off like I'm at a stop light... rev it up to about 1500 and feather it. Then just tromp it. I've gotten my 60 ft times as low as 2.17... but I usually average around 2.20. Its an art you have to practice... alot.

Oh.. and I noticed another thing last night.. my best times were when I shifted at 6k instead of 6200..

hopefully when i get the new rubber this week the times will go down somewhat. the tires i have on now have been punished enough.. it's probably at the virginia inspection limit.. new rubber + tien springs must = slightly faster times imo

When I was at California Speedway I ran a 1/4 mile of 16.328 and the 1/8 was a 10.466. I could have probably gotten a 10.2 1/8 and a 16 flat though if I could not spin all of 1st gear. I know to feather it on the street but I think all of the adrenaline when you are at the track caused me to dump it at 2500.
