Flashing back to stock with Predator...problems...

Hey Everyone,

Just wondering for those who have predators, when you flash back to stock, does your idle hang around 1000rpm? It seems that when I flashed back to stock, it didn't quite go back to the "factory" tune, the idle is still at 1000rpm and the car is not as slow as it should be. And yes, I'm positive that I flashed back correctly, I even "forced" it with Diablo support on the phone. I've given it a couple of days and it still doesn't seem stock. Anyone experienced this? I'm just worried that I'll take the car to the dealership and it will show up with a custom tune.

As a side note, does the predator back up your individual car's tune, or does it have a general backup that it uses?

Thanks for the help.

j

Hey,

I'm having the same exact problem. Idle's still just under 1000 rpm. Trying to figure out how to check if the factory tune is in the ECU. Asked Tom, but no answer so far...

Not much help here, sorry.

X2 with the idle/performance.
I had the same thing happen when I was testing a "TC Defeat" tune for the late build 04 models.
Tom sent me a Predator (for free ) to help solve the problem.
When I flashed back to stock to send the unit back to him, I noticed the same thing.
Course, I only gave it a day or two before I reloaded the XCAL1 tune from Wayne.

Have you tried resetting the ECU by disconnecting the battery, and see if that makes a difference?

What year is your SVT??

So it sounds like this is a common problem with the predators? Anyone else? Any solutions?

I tried disconnecting the battery, didn't do anything, I'll try again though. My SVT is a 2004.

^^^ I know your's is a 2004.
ergodic, you need to fill out the "what I drive" section in your profile...hint...hint.

But...back on the tune...
I know what you mean SVTmonkey about the "stock" tune when reloaded from the Predator, not really feeling like the "stock" tune at all anymore.
When I've done that with the XCAL, it's noticeable from the get-go.
Surging is back, bog is back, etc etc.
^^^ Not so with the Predator.
In fact, I felt just as you did, meaning, OMG, where'd my factory tune go?
But...The XCAL recognized it as the factory tune when I went back to that unit again.
If it wasn't, it wouldn't have loaded up the custom tune properly.

What's the Predator say for "last tune loaded"?

I have 2004 SVTf (profile edited).

It's a relief to know that XCAL recognizes it as a factory tune - I started to think that I'm if something goes wrong with the engine.

As for the name - there are two meanings. One is from math sciences, describing the property of the chaotic systems that the state path does not depend on the initial conditions and that such system will hit any state with probability 1 given enough time. In plain english - highly chaotic system. Another one relates to ergot, fungus from which LSD is obtained. There's a nice article on wikipedia on ergot and ergotism.

Which one did you find hilarious, WD40?:)

OT: Hilarious name

Which one did you find hilarious, WD40?
LOL!! My mind was completely in the gutter, and nowhere near any sort of physics or medical explanation...
Ergo...short for Ergonomic.
Dic...short for...I think you should get it now...
Hopefully, I haven't offended you in any way.

And... to FocusFanatics, even though some of us appear to have sick minds.
