Im looking into a nitrous setup for my SVTF, thinking id like to go with a 75 wet shot. I ran a 50 dry shot on my old 99 ZX2 and loved it, now i want that push button butt dyno kick again! I plan on getting a 75hp shot tune, is there anything else other then one step colder plugs and the safety items mentioned before(long before on this thred) refering to fuel system upgrades? or is the stock fuel system(as long as its spliced before the rail) ample enough fuel to keep my SVT on the happy side of things with a 75 wet shot? I got mixed interpritations after reading this thred. Much thanks to anyone who can help out.

The SVT fuel pump is a great thing. No need to do any upgrades there. If the fuel filter hasn't been done in a while, I would do that just to be safe. The big issue I see on the SVT's with nitrous is a tune. If you are getting a nitrous tune from a relaible tuner then I think you will be fine. The tune is the key.

Get with a tuner such as Mcnews, or focus-power or several others that are on here. They can build a tune for you, its not cheap , but it is well worth it as the engine will stay together. I always reccomend a tune for a 75 shot or more, and any nitrous hit on a SVT.

Thanks Sporadic. Its not all here, but it covers the basics.

Second caller, with a 35 or 50 shot, no tuning is necessary, just run premium gas, above this HP level you neeed tuning
Im going with a 25 or 50 shot dry system. Should i get a tune anyway? Just for the sake of doing things right? Or am i wasting money??

Also, i read here about closing the gap on the plugs but i have a screamin demon pack so i have mine open more. What do i need to do about that??

And btw mate, great write up

I prefer to run a wet shot, as they supply their own fuel... A dry shot can be safe IF, big if. there is enough fuel in the injectors to keep it alive. If you run a dry shot, make sure the AFR is safe when you are spraying. A wet shot is really the better way to go with our cars.
