Exhaust System Muffler Mods

I realize there are about a zillion threads on this subject. In fact, I "Searched" lastnight for, no lie, at least 2 hours. Was just wondering, I read about people suggesting to cout off the rear "lunch box" muffler, to gain a tiny bit of performance. Earlier, I was assessing my situation, when I discovered the rear exhaust hanger had rotted off the muffler. The next hanger is a little ways up, just behind the 1st muffler. Has anyone ever chopped the e-pipe right after the first muffler and ran a pipe out the drivers side off the car? Mine isn't lowered, so it looks like there'd be plenty of clearance. Also wondering if doing this would make the car noisey as hell?

ive seen it once on a red turboed SVT. its ok. i would never do it though. he had just a round pipe. maybe if you can find a wide thinner tip, it would look better. something like a mid-90's camaro tip.
i can tell you that removing the lunchbox and running pipe out the rear will add a bit of more sound. and also get rid of the sight of the ugly thing.

Thanks for the advice. Guess I'd rather keep it rear discharge or else the cut out in the bumper will look totally stupid.

Well, it would be an empty slot a look totally stupid, wouldn't it. What was I thinking...

I'll be running the pipe out the back. Now, to find someone with a tube bender...

I deleted the lunchbox, I like it a lot. Im gonna be doing an exhaust kit sometime b4 spring but I just got sick of stock and my friend helped me hack it off. I would definately recommend deleting it.

Did you extend the pipe out the back of the car or just leave it short?
