JE makes 9.0:1 CR pistons

FC sells probe pistons which have an 8.2:1 CR.

There are some other brands out there also, like Ross and wiseco, I believe marcy motorsport uses ross and turbo tom uses weisco.

You can always order custom pistons, built to your specs.

Yeah, i'm probably going to have them custom done. Now, the block is made of aluminum isn't it. I hate aluminum blocks, must find iron.

nope, not aluminum...its cast with aluminum head, you could tell that just by taking a look at the motor....and why do you hate them?...

aluminum is weaker, thought i read somewhere that it was aluminum head and block. Oh well, glad to hear it's not.

I kinda have to disagree with your statement that aluminum is weaker, especially given its many uses in high horsepower engines. There are several variations of aluminums some of them ranging from soft to extremely hard. It is both its versatility and light weight as well as excellent thermal capabilities that make it superior to cast.

Is there a formula for compression compared to power?

So then why is it that when your head warps, it has to be resurfaced and not the block? I understand that aluminum CAN be an excellent metal to use, but in a ford focus, I don't think super high quality would have been put into effect. So a cheaper and stronger metal, like iron, would be used. I would imagine.
