painting my car?? need help mixing paint

ok i bought 1 quart of silver paint and 1 qt of UA paint code black,,to match my car,,,and i got the hardner,,reducer,,,thinner for the primer,,,i have a hvlp spray gun and air compressor,,,,i need to know how to mix the paint and the primer correctly,,,they gave me two cups to measure with but i dont understand the process

What type of primer paint hardner and reducer did you get??

lemco is the hardner and all that and the paint,,the primer is a no name i got from o rileys auto parts...its a 1 qt can

the lady said 3 parts primer 2 parts thinner,,but i have no idea what that means,,lol

I don't know anything about mixing paint, so don't take my word for this but-

parts just means "equal amounts" so in a recipe you could do 1 part milk to 2 parts yogurt, that could be 1 cup milk, 2 cups yogurt, or whatever unit you like as long as there's twice as much yogurt...

So you say they gave you 2 cups, if they're equal size I'd say mix together 3c primer, 2c thinner (or 6 & 4... or whatever) Does that help at all?

i put the primer in the mixer thing and then poured in 1/4 of the amount of primer and then stirred it up alittle and still looked alittle to think to i added some more thinner and then it worked good and i primed the car so thanks guys,,,and i was thinking the same lil pzev...thanks for the info guys,,,hope the paint goes on as good as the primer

do you have a booth to be spraying the car in? where are you painting it at?
