so...is the steeda unit worth $150....and can you use the stock knob with it?I don't feel like paying $20 for one...

before i post my own thread i am looking for a short throw shifter for my zx3 that doesnt lose much height and is very crisp to shift and short in the throw. Is the steeda the way to go? i dont like small shifters?

since u have a pre april 02 focus the ford racing sts is the way to go. the lower pivot point is changed so the throw is shorter but the height isn't much different.

PARKINGLOT, yes you can use the stock knob with the steeda/frpp unit

sounds good i'll check into that. 2001 is different in that area versus 02-04?

yes after april 02 the shifters were different. I never actually looked closely at the design of the post 02 shifters but i know one of the linkages is above the pivot point.

oh man..well im old school when it comes to performance(80's and 90's small blocks)but even then our kind swear on two products....edelbrock and b&m. so i would have to go with b&m.
