this may fall under the category of performance modification that actually helps the environment. where is SVTmonkey now?

Just re-read the whole thread, you got a good one here. I am convinced that wrapping up my header is a go but I would like more info on wrapping the HFC. If there is no doubt that it will hurt it, then I will take it all the way down to the flex-pipe. Thanks for the cool info in this thread.

I ended up wrapping everything except the honeycomb section. Then placed the heat shield back on the top section to protect the oil temps. I then wrapped around the edges of the heatshield so there most of the heat stays on the bottom where it can be cooled while driving down the road. Air + exposed metal bottom of the cat = cooling.

I did have the whole thing wrapped but after talking with my uncle who works at Toyota as an engineer said to wrap everything but the honeycomb.

I have some bigger electrical problems right now. The car is going to be apart yet again...Good thing I have my Ranger.

I will be doing this sometime this weekend. I was wondering for the people who used hose clamps, what is the size of the 4 the 2 and the 1 parts of the header?

Basically how many and what sizes will I need to wrap my header and use hose clamps.
