Can these "reflashes" be done at any Ford dealer, or do you have to go to a dealer that's SVT certified or whatever they call it? Apparently, according to my car's little sticker, I'm still on RLA1 and I do have some of the issues listed as corrected by this update.

Also, I read the thread about this on FJ - I'm not sure whether to laugh or cry about the fact that they enlisted the help of Microsoft on this matter.

You can go to any Ford, lincoln, jag, mercury, mazda, land rover, aston martinor volvo dealer as they are all in the "FORD FAMILY of DEALERS" However you might not get "SVT PREFERED" service... Doubt you'll get a jag for a rental or anything like that.... Although you never know!

What, no XJ loaner car?? Aw, shoot. Well, I'll talk to the local Ford dealers here. The SVT dealer that sold the car is only about 15 minutes away. It's just that there's another Ford dealer about 3-5 minutes away. Yes, I'm that lazy.

hmm sounds like stuff most of our cars have. cold starts with colder air should give you a healthy idle anyway coz the air's colder and the engine's not too hot if i'm right. Not enough power on initial pull away... mmm sounds like a Focus. Too long to return to idle? sounds like a Focus. funny that. If it's good for another 30 rwhp at initial pull away then i'll agree that ford has done a good job

I heard or read the same thing about Microsoft and Ford Shaking hands...........hmmmm, IMHO it's like pouring salt in the wound.........Pretty soon I'll just be able to interface my laptop and upload critical updates to the SVTF

Well, Ford has hit a home run in the service department and will make me wait till Monday for the update. Oh well, I'm kinda getting used to the C.E.L. light anyway.

I think Ford has gotten the SVT Focus right with this reflash. Its like driving a diffrent car and i like it. It runs better and havnt seen my battery light come on yet. I think every one with a Svt Focus should get this done.

Does it revs 1200 even when the engine/oil is hot?
