Hey first off let me be the first to say ! There are lots to say in regarding to your question but I will keep it simple for now. The difference between ZX3's and SVT's are alot. They both have 2.0 L Zetec engines but SVT has many diff components. SVT's have a dual stage intake manifold, Variable Cam Timing, 4-2-1 Exhaust Manifold, and a a 6 Speed Getrag Tranny. SVT's suspension is more stiffer too compared to the regular ZX3's. The Zetecs in ZX3's are good ol' four bangers with no variable timing of any sort. As far as interchangable parts, I do believe some parts are interchangable and some are not. Hope this helps somewhat. I know there's more to add to this, but I will leave it up to the next guy.

SVTs are ZX3s or ZX5s (i believe) on steroids...basically an SVT is the equivalent of a ZX3 that has a few thousand dollars of mods already put on for you, so you dont have to...and so you have a higher point to start your own modifications on than a standard ZX3

...oh, and be careful...its zetec, not Ztech

svt was a limited run of 1401 cars over a three year period from 02-04.
suspension will interchange between the two. svt had stiffer springs and a larger swaybar both front and rear along with firmer shocks and struts, and rear disc brakes. also the svt came with 17 inch wheels.
interiors differed too. svt had leather seating with cloth inserts, black interior panels, 160mph speedo and an aux guage cluster. there were other upgrade options above this basic (i.e. euro package, audiophile).
as far as engine components, basically the cylinder block itself is about the only interchangable part (no internals or head, just the bare block).
svt brakes were larger from the factory.

Also the SVT had race-inspired seat with leather and cloth inserts. Some came with Recarro racing seats. Indiglo guages and all. The zetec is a type of engine.
