Question Contour svt engine fits the 6 spd getrag?

Does anyone knows if a 6 cyl 2.5 engine from a contour svt would fit the 6 spd getrag?

I've heard it'll bolt up. But that the input shaft is a bit shorter on the getrag. It can work, but isn't a perfect fit.

I have seen in the seller section that a member did a Cougar V6 swap.

Awesome.

I too have heard of people making it work. I'm not exactly sure of what it would take though.

ask either v8focus1 or cdsilver5doorsvt they are both the original owners and fabricators of the v6 foci.

I would say doubtful...for it to work the 2.5 Duratec V6 and the Zetec would have to share the same bellhousing bolt pattern. Now if you could get a bellhousing that would bolt up to the 2.5 and to the 6-speed Getrag you'd be in business, but that's true of any engine/transmission combination.

one of our local guys and a good friend owns the old zx3tuning v6 contour swap in his car... getrag isn't what you'd want even if it did fit for a transmission

Why does every one keep saying that "you dont want the Getrag"??

I most definitly like it better than the MTX in the regular zetec... and yes I've driven both... and with a V6 bolted to it the getrag should be really fun.

You can alway change out the bell housing if needed....
