ehh adding fuel to the fire im sure.... honda's when they are clean and sound nice are a good car, but there are like none that like real low key and clean (no decals, no wing, obnoxious rims, sound system, and must have nice paint) but other than that i rather get my cubes stepped on from hulk hogan....instead of driving a honda

diesel engines have TONS of tq, but no horsepower. It also depends on whether the diesel is turbo or not. The TD F250/350, Silverado 2500/3500, or Ram TD, when tuned, are fast as hell. Look at the Audi R10 or R15. RAPES at Le Mans. So please tell me why you think diesels are slow?
The other issue with diesel is the fact that they cannot rev very high. Max they typically go it 5000 rpm, maybe....but mostly 4500 rpm fuel cut off. You can get 180 hp and 250-300 ft-lb tq 2.0L TDI from europe, those are pretty quick.

I know evo's an cobalt's have this done to the block but not our's.
on the bottom of the blocks of evo's & cobalt's the crank caps/rack have Additional support to handle really big power (like over 700hp). If you look at this link, look at the bottom of the block right by the main bearing's theres 2 bolts for each cap but the cap goes further out to the side of the block an level off with where the oil pan would bolt up. https://www.slowboyracing.com/produc...=0&page=1&js=n |

If you get the billet caps from Tom or whomever, it is the same type of thing for us.
That block is a Mitsu block. What happens to Mitsu cranks? They walk. And when crank walks, it breaks, destroying the motor. So, those larger main caps tie closer to the block for added support and strength to prevent crank walk. With Jim having 350 hp, roughly, he probably needed those billet caps for strength on the bottom end. Honda's and other engines having something similar that ties the 2 center caps together, but it also acts as a windage tray.

depends, I'm not truly familiar with the duratec's. With the zetec, as long as you have decent rods and pistons, you can make plenty of power. The crank will hold as long as there is enough support under them, ie good caps. Spend the $13000 for the cosworth 300 na hp engine LOLOL.

the problem with the duratec's is you cant really make big power because the threads in the block that hold down the crank caps would get ripped out, alum is very weak compareed to iron.
