Nasa started a focus spec rally class you can find all the information at the following website.

http://rallyspecfocus.com/

My friend also owns a Group A ford escort cosworth rally car... Lemme know if you have any questions needless to say the sport is expensive however it is achieveable. There are different classes for rally cars so look into that and all wheel drive makes a difference however front wheel and rear wheel drive classes are equally as fun and affordable.

If you are going to use a focus. Stiffer suspension and good dirt tires are going to be a must. Thats about all I can add...heres a rad picture.

yeah if you are actually going to race it not just show it off consider strongly what your putting on it there are regulations set for certain race classes that will limit what you can put on your focus.

I'm a navigator in my friends rally car so I understand the regulations... Either way most rally cars are street legal. In stage rallly you have to transition stages on public roads so they have to be street legal. As far as emissions go most cars are licensed as kit cars. Trust me I know what I am talking about because I sit in an acutual rally car. So make sure you set the car up right for the class and racing you are doing it will cost you but it will be lots of fun. Here are some pics of the car...

By the way I'm not trying to be mean just take it from someone who has done it.. It requires a lot of money schooling and patience the rewards and experience are excellent. Overall anyone can do it just takes some time. I really wish you the best of luck. The reason why I ask if you want the look is because I made my car rally like I have mudflaps tarmac suspension and hids and compomotive th rally style wheels. Overall I like the look of my car many do not understand it but I enjoy it as do my close friends. However to really rally your car you will spend more then the cost of your car the regulations and safety standards are strict. But I wish you the best of luck and am here to answer your questions .

no i understand. but in CA they are very strict about offroad vehicles and smog. so unless i make no mods to the engine or exhaust, which i am, i cant drive it around all the time. i know it will take time and money...but its a dream none the less. and thank you for your support. oh, and for those who advise "renting" or buying a new car....no.
