Hurray........it's back!!!

Well picked up my car today after its transmission transplant. Got to say my buddy did a great job on it. Although had a few glitches at first. When I arrive the car was runnin real choppy and didn't want to stay idling. They couldn't figure out what was going on but a quick look at my boost guage and it was fluttering at 0 showed a large Vac leak. A hose had simply come off a T fitting and I reflashed it and it ran like a champ.
Than came the fun part of driving 100 miles north to take my old trans back for core to the salvage yard I got it from. Figured it would be a good fun drive and a good way to break in my new clutch alittle. Well would have been better if my stupid self had remembered my CD player face plate...nope. On the way up I did notice it was rather hard to get it into gear and would far more often than normal grind 6th for some reason. Kinda worried me so I figured I'd stop by on the way back. Well after 3 fun filled hours of silence and dead straight roads I was back at my buddies shop. Looked at it and didn't see anything wrong so just figured we'd spray alittle lube on the shift linkage and sure enough it worked great after that. Apparently after sitting un-used for awhile it just got stiff. Well another 70 miles back to my place and a total of 270 quiet, boring filled miles and I'm home safe and sound with my beloved burple mini-mini-van. You don't realize how much you miss your car till you are stuck driving your g-ma beige PT cruiser with wood grain and automatic and it's horribly slow while the hot girls at the gas station laugh at you cause your car is lame...haha yea...I love my car

Congrats on getting your car back. I'm sure the whine of the S/C and the hum of the exhaust made some sweet music.
