How many miles on your spi engine?

My SPI is at 232,000 miles its only needed a head gasket and resurfacing of the head no valve job the valves looked good (knock on wood)

I got mine in 07 with 61k it is now just over 108k, but think the timing belt is screwed!

At 197150, just bought it needing a little TLC. New LCA's + ball joints, AC clutch, so far runs strong thus far. Need to do timing belt, water pump and shocks and struts. Love is so far.

cracked the liner, trashed the piston and head.

My 03 SPI is now at 156k and going strong. Wonder if my adding 2oz Lucas Upper Cylinder Lube at each fill up is helping to prevent the inevitable valve seat drop?

I am by no means and expert, but I don't think there is an additive in the world that will stop that seat from eventually dropping. If you want to avoid it, swap the head.
