Just got in dash DVD player...how do I wire it to play DVDs while driving?

So I just got the Dual brand in dash DVD player from Wal-Mart. My question is...how can I wire it to where I can play DVDs while driving? I got it to work while the parking brake is on, so it does work, but the point of a DVD is to watch it, so thats what I'm going to do. I just need some help.

If it helps any, when you have it hooked up the right way, you have to put the brake on, take off for 1 sec, then put back on the brake for the movie to play.

Could I wire it to a toggle switch? Like put the parking wire to the accessory tab, one wire to ground the switch, and have one wire leading to constant power? Would that work?

Take the wire that goes to the parking brake and ground it. Problem solved. Steve

i believe superman's method works for most players but if yours requires the ebrake to be engaged, disengaged, and engaged again...you will probably have to put a switch on the ebrake ground and do that exact thing (on, off, on) with the switch instead of the ebrake...not sure, havent done it myself...just makes sense to me

Sorry, not that easy. I already tried that. The way the dvd player is set up is that you have to hook to the parking brake and apply the brake, then take it off, and put it back on, then after 5 seconds the picture shows. They have it set up so that you can't just ground it.

I need help, not sarcasm. Its so my wife and friends can watch while I'm driving or for me to watch while she is driving.

I'm going to try and do the toggle switch tomorrow. I'll let everyone know what happens.
