Which oil filter?
hey all... i was lookin at the AMSoil site, getting ready to put an order through. and the only filter i can find for our engines is the WIX brand... i was wanting to go with an EAO filter, sinse they seem to be ALOT better at efficiency and filtering, i mean being able to last 15,000miles for a filter is very nice, even though it'll be replaced every oil change....

so if anyone knows how to cross reference the AMSoil numbers for their EAO filter for our engine, thanks!

Motorcraft FL-910. That filter will work as good as any.

K&N and WIX are the only filters I trust in any of my vehicals. I currently use the K&N and mobile1 in 5000 mile intervels with no problems.

K&N is waaay overpriced.
Motorcraft #FL400S is a bit long than the stocker thus providing more filtration. This is what i use.

Scammer, you are supposed to use the FL-2005 on the svt. Its the same size as the FL-400-S.

you sure? i know it calls for the FL2005. but i swore the other was longer. ill go back if you recomend it. been on there 5K miles. im changing oil today, ill stick with the stocker if you say so. Thanx Mike.

Actually, they both use the same housing, i just compared them to make sure, im at work right now. Pretty easy to do since we have about 1500 of them sitting here, lol.

so, the motorcraft OEM filter is just as good as a K&N filter?

the motorcraft filter is thin

wix is junk

k&n is overpriced

the mobile 1 imo is best
