Post Stock headlight bulb latch picture

For those who haven't changed their stock headlight bulb, here's a pic of the headlight bulb assembly from the rear, showing the latch that holds the bulb in place.

Hey microtonal, that's a GREAT idea -- to take pictures and post 'em. I couldn't see what I was doing when I tried to change my bulbs. I should have put my camera where my hand was and taken a picture, or maybe used a mirror.

Listen, not to be dense, but two questions:

1. your caption says push latch in then move it LEFT to release. But actually the photo makes it look like it's a hook which requires you to push latch in then move it RIGHT to release.

2. are the left and right side latches the exact same arrangment, or are they mirror images of each other?

You would push in the latch and push in the oppposite direction of the arrow, left/passenger side.

I'll have to check this out. I'll confirm this later today or tomorrow.

Hum...The arrow is pointing to the left. So you would push in the latch and push in the direction of the arrow, left.

Oh I get it now -- it's not the metal spring you're pushing out of the way. The metal thing is just a clasp. The grey plastic hook/latch thingy is what needs to be pushed out of the way. And it makes sense now, you'd push it to the left. D'oh!

I guess if your standing in front of the headlight and reach in side the rear, from that prospective, you would be pushing the latch IN then to the Left front your point of view.

Also, you don't push toward the arrow but the opposite direction.
So standing in front of the headlight, you would push the latch IN then move the latch toward the passenger side/Left.

I checked and both the passenger side and driver side bulb latch/harnest are the same.

it was very helpful when i was changing my bulbs to get a small handheld mirror, like one that girls keep in their purses to put makeup on.
