Unhappy New Alternator, Battery Light comes on and the car dies

Well, this is a no end history. The Foci is giving me another problem, this morning went to turn on the car to let it idle for some minutes and then take the long way to work, but suddenly the Battery light went ON and then the car died on me. Just re-started the engine and seconds later the battery light came ON again and the car died, so long history made short: just took my wife's car ang get to work, any advice about this problem ? Thanks in advance.

I can pretty much 100% tell you what the problem is cause I had the same problem. Apparently there is an inline fusable link between the battery and the alternator. Somehow, mine had blown when we put my new alternator in and I was having the exact same symptoms as you describe. Started up, ran for awhile but nearly soon as I drove away, my battery light was coming on. And this is because the power isnt being sent to the battery from the alternator and wasnt charging the battery. Didn't know any of this at the time so dumb founded I took it to a shop. Took them over a week to discover this link since apparently its not all that common, most people didnt know about it. I wish I could tell you exactly where it is but since I didnt repair I don't know.

My mechanic taked a look at the Foci and resulted to be a hose with a hole on it, this hose was sucking too much air and the car stalled, replaced the hose (I don't know which) and problem went away !
