I say go for it! The perspective from being on the track, and being in the pits (not as a spectator) is great.

I've had a few hecklers (like on a run with a missed shift) in the stands, but most of the racers are Really, Really cool. The love the sport and are happy to see people get started.

I even talked my wife into taking her 96 full size, 5.0 Bronco out. She ran 18s but was "booed" by the drugies/drunks that like to hang out at the end of our track. She still had fun, but now has dreams of forced injection...

Definitely take it out there. I started out with a stock 99 Cougar with an automatic. I was practically the slowest person out there but it was a lot of fun. I've been taking the Focus out there since it was new. Still near the bottom end for times but it's great to see my times getting quicker since I've started racinig it.

I had a bad experience the 1 time I raced my focus. I let off the clutch a little to soon and the car started to bog then slowly caught up I think I ran in the 18's and was so embarrased now I want to go to the track with my current mods.
