Go for it man its wasier to learn how to drive your car and how to race when your in a slower car. The first time I ran I got a 18.2 talk about wanting to stick my head in my ass... but now I am running 15.5s in a very lightly modded focus. Its all in fun as you will learn when you get out there some people may laugh but they too were once there in your place.

Now that I have gotten pretty good I am investing in a foxbody and hopin to be running 10s by the end of next summer... kind of hard to learn on a 10second car....

Good luck!

every pound counts! if i were going to the strip i would take out te spare tire nd jack, iwant air conditioning out, the back seats, even things as small as the antenna for ur radio. 4 bangers dont beat v8's by making more power. remember that!
2005 Ford Focus (silver) CAI, F2 Header, Custom exhaust, and a super sexy RS shift knob!. this is only the begining...

For $50, I don't know, but if you can swing the cash go ahead. You'll have fun, and you won't get embarassed, especially if it's a bracket race. Bracket racing is all about timing, not about going faster than the other guy. As long as you stay consistent, you'll do good. One of the most popular cars to bracket race is the stock Ford Taurus. Car and Driver even bracket-raced an H2 once.

Since my Focus is down for surgery I was in the mood for some speed so at the end of last season I went to the track and took the two family daily drivers, an ‘03 ML350 benz and my ‘85 ford ranger 2 liter. The ML was one of the fastest SUV there but no one seemed to care. No biggie. The race that everyone at the track enjoyed, even got a standing ovation, was when I lined up my ‘85 ranger with the 70 something hp engine next to a ford festiva with a big rice burner tip and wing on it. My ranger got to the other end of the track first, the guy fell asleep at the tree. My 24.15 beat his 23.70 my wife said that people were screaming and laughing when we got to the pits we had people around both our beat up jalopies. We went two other times with the festiva being the victor. I’ll try and find the winning time slip and post it.

My point go out there and have fun no matter what you drive.

I say go and race it. It is all about having fun. And stock cars are great for bracket racing. Just run your( Dial In ) every time and you will win.

Go race it! im waiting for this summer for when they open our track back up. There was a Neon out htere last year they had put a bunch of stuff on (non SRT_4) and he was almost peeing my pants and wishing i had brought my car! He was only getting like Mid 16s and i was wanting to get out there mess em up so bad lol I clocked him 0-60 in 10.2 secs! there were a few others out tthere.....then there were the cars out there getting quartermile times of 9.2! LOl during the test and tune they put my buddys 98 Stang up against HIGHLY modified willys jeep, lol i gave him so much crap because the willys made it down like almost a full 3 seconds before he that would be a jeep to own for sure!
