Pop it in D and leave it there. No need to turn O/D off. I don't know exactly how that works but I don't think it will make you any faster. If you shift it yourself you will waste time. Also I've heard of people tearing up their transmissions doing stuff like that.

Hmm... if I were you I'd shoot for a 17.6, but I don't know if your conditions will be the same, I was pretty close to sea level and that helps a lot. Plus I have a 65mm throttle body, K&N panel filter, and Borla 2.5" catback so mine will probably be half a second faster. Don't bother taking the seats out but at least drop the spare and jack, that takes like 3 minutes, why not? If you're having trouble with traction (which I doubt you will, I can barely squeal my tires) drop your tire pressure a little.

If you don't know how to launch, you should press your brake really hard with your left foot and give it gas with the right, try it around the 2K-2.5K area and let up on the brake, see what works best.

Will there be other stock cars out there too? Will I get made fun of? And finally, Is it worth a $50 entry fee?
dont worry about being stock. your still faster then those "modded" civics(non SI) and who you can out run just might surprise ya

$50? No.

$15-20, maybe...it better be a good ass track though.

I ran my stock once. Then I started removing all the stock parts and replacing them..:)

My friend gabe when he first ran his focus it was dirt slow. In our elevation it was like a 16.8 or worse. Now he is now like a 15.6 or .8 but he walks alot of people out here. He kills my spec v!
wow u must really suck at driving stick shift if your friend that runs a 15.6-15.8 can beat your Spec V because ur spec V should already be faster than that STOCK!!! wow....
