Arrow Accesory Belt tensioner

Try changing your accesory belt tensioner, it's really cheap (like $27 at any auto parts store) and while there, replace the belt itself. Mine was in the same situation and the belt tensioner was the problem. Thanks !

Before you buy anything, pop the serpentine belt off and see if the noise goes away. It won't hurt it to run for a minute without the water pump turning, especially if you're starting off with a cold engine. If the noise is gone, then try turning the idler pully, alternator, waterpump- anything else that's there by hand. If you can feel any roughness at all, it's bad.
Often wrong but never in doubt.
