Question Why you bought the "Focus"?

I am new to this site & was wondering why anyone/everyone decided on purchasing thier Focus and how old you are. Just an informal poll. In regards to why I purchased our Foci. After my wife & I drove many of car in this class, it was hard to pass on the Focus. With the price after rebate & being able to use the "X" plan, really couldn't find a logical reason to not purchase it. Also w/ the new PZEV engine w/ a 5 spd, it really is great little car in regards to performance. Time will tell on durabililty and problems. Also the now standard 5yr/100,000 drivetrain warranty is nice addition. I am more than likely a bit "older" than the majority on the site, "43", (44 next month). Anyother "Semi Senior Citizens" out there? Thanks for looking & will be looking forward to reading your responses.

I am right behind you at 41 yrs... I bought the focus because I WILL NOT buy japanese if I can help it. GM (Gods mistake) and chrysler aren't an option. I need good fuel economy, and the price was right. I used the x plan also. It is perfect for what I need... just not what I want. (read that as a F-350 powerstroke)

30 years old....

I was actually at the Nissan dealer looking for a used Maxima. Nothing close to the price range I was looking for (around $15k). They had a Focus ZX3 and a sedan on the lot for like $9000. I figured, what the heck. They look nice for a small car. Decent gas mileage. Test drove the sedan, took it home that afternoon.

23 in October...

I was 18 when I bought my ZX3. I needed something inexpensive at the time, so I was looking for either a Civic hatchback (because hatches sound best with the subwoofers I already had) or a Probe GT (because it's a Probe GT). While looking for the Probe GT at a Ford dealership, I was showed the Focus. Then the black 5-speed with a/c, CD and not too much more, took me for a test drive, and took me home. 3 years later....I still owe money on this econobox, but I love the car. It doesn't drive as smooth anymore with my mods, but it's really fun!!

I bought the Focus simply for the $3,000 rebate.

Hi, I'll be 27 in october.

I've been buying my focus because I wanted a station wagon that did not cost too much and had a reliable motor.

I had been reading in some magazines that the engine was the same running since the '96 escort and it was quite a good motor if driven with respect. The price was OK and the car was almost able to wrap another car...

Plus, one of the Ford dealer in my region is considered to be one of the best in the whole Québec provinced. I bought my focus from them.

It is a very nice car for the price. Get a manual transmission: the car will feel less lazy.

Hope that helps
