Before anybody says ANYTHING, please notice that "santiago" is from Venezuela, so he may not be familiar with the Gude reputation.

Santiago, Gude doesn't have many friends here. It is usually considered a cheap and improper way to turbocharge your car, and may lead to damage. In the time I have been on this forum I have seen a few users register and give a sad story about how they turbocharged their Focus using a Gude kit and eventually they blew out the motor - literally, chunks of motor blown apart, or a cracked block, etc. Gude = bad.

well i dont have one, but just from what i've seen posted on here over the times, the gude turbo is nothing of quality. I would wait to see what some of the people with good knowledge have to say. Just from my gathering of info, it seems to be cheap (quality). I would think you could get a decent turbo kit from Turbo Tom on here for a similar price to the Gude. or any other manufacturer for that matter.

The main problem that I can gather from reading the horror stories is the Gude kit lacks proper tuning or fuel delivery upgrades, or both. Obviously slapping a turbo onto an engine that hasn't had the fuel system upgraded or had some kind of recalibration to account for the turbo is going to be asking for trouble, and trouble is what Gude buyers seem to get...

Honestly? I would keep saving the money. I would rather wait longer and get a kit I knew would be of high quality and was not likely to damage or destroy my engine. The Gude kit may have a lower initial cost, but if you destroy your engine the cost suddenly becomes MUCH higher than if you had saved and bought a proper turbo kit.
