Boosting the Ghia's performance
I've just got myself a Focus Ghia. As you know the Australia spec. Ghia has a detuned engine (god knows why). The engine's just the same 2.0L as on the Zetec hatch. A Ford workshop foreman told confirmed that the ECU can be reprogrammed to the Zetec spec. to boost output. Has anyone tried this?
I'd like to know before getting this done. Does it make a perceptible difference when accelerating? The car wil only run on premium (95 RON) after this is done. Cheers

yes it is noticeable and it is worth doing. I have a manual Zetec myself, I'm in Sydney. I recommend it if they'll do it for you, go for it. Running on premium you actually go a little further on a tank of fuel so in the end it is only slightly dearer to run everyday on premium, it is however better for your engine in the long run. You should notice a difference though, no problems.
