Duratec long term durability.

I bought an '05 ZX5 SES last Saturday (10-14-06) CPO with 22,345 miles on it. I just turned 24,500 six days later. I am a contract courier and clock 300-350 miles per day. I am curious as to the long term durability of the car as a whole, and the engine and transmission specifically. How many miles do you have on your focus (any model, any year), and if you have a D20 how far has it gone and what problems have you had. I expect to put 80k on this car in the next twelve months and would like to know what I am in for.

I have enjoyed the car immensly in the last week as its road manners remind me most of a CRX I owned in the early nineties. I put 225K on an Accord '03-'05 and had nothing but problems from 60k on, '05-'06 100k on a Ford trouble free, so I opted for another Ford and hope for the same.

imo i feel that as long as you do all the maintenance to the car, it will be fine.

Can't say for sure, but I've got almost 30K on my '05 ZX3 and no problems yet.
I went to synthetic oil and added a few mod's, still no problems.

You really should be fine as long as you do the maintenance and stay on top of any problems that might show up. Don't wait until last minute to fix them.

45K on an '04, bought used at 12K. Only problem I've had was a bad fuel pressure sensor.
Change the oil every 5k with Amsoil 5W20 and throw a bottle of Techron fuel system cleaner in the tank. Thinking of running SeaFoam through the engine before winter...
Yeah, keeping ahead of the maintenance is the way to go!

53k on mine and the only issue I have right now is a shaky car. I'm changing plugs to see if that helps smooth it out at all. The car didn't do this until recently.

No issues other than a radio that didn't want to play cd's (replaced) and an engine temp sensor that got wet and needed to be replaced.
