can you increase the range of the remote control??

You've got a 2001 model I see, have you changed the batteries in your fob? (at least I think that's what you mean by remote- the little thingy on your keychain that unlocks doors, pops the hatch, ect?) I have an 02 ZX3 and mine unlocks the doors at a range of about 5 or 6 feet, if yours is less than that, ask your local dealer to change the battery in that fob.

try this, its wierd but works! Hold your remote keyfob against your forehead and press the buttons. On my focus I can walk further than twice the distance of the longest working range from the car and the remote still works!

If you don't want to look quite as weird, putting the Keyfob against your chin works as well. It basically uses your skull as a bigger antenna.

i know that, mine works from about like 15 feet, maybe you can increase the antenna on the receiver in the car?? (not the radio antenna lol) or nobody knows.??????
