I have a how-to for the SVT header installation. I posted in another SVT header thread. Here is the how-to (Again) in case anyone needs help installing it. Maybe S2 can add it to his how-to archive.

A couple of my friends and I did this install on my car a few weeks ago. It took a long time, but nothing went too wrong. I only snapped one bolt. The rest came off with some effort....and an impact gun...yes, impact gun, not an air rachet, and even the impact gun was barely able to break them loose.

My PS line is still in the stock location, and I didn't use heat shielding (the header is wrapped with heat wrap)--no problems yet. As far as the grinding goes, I kind of expected to have to slot the holes on the one flange, so that wasn't too much of a shock.

The one bolt that I had trouble tightening was the far left (if you are looking at the engine from the front)....that took some contortionist work, but I finally got it.

My car is loud....real loud with the ORP, but I've gotten used to it now. And the power increase in amazing for something as (relatively) simple as an exhaust.

sockets(deep well and standard), socket wrenches, beer, air ratchet and impact gun if you have access to it, torque wrench, penetrating oil, open ended wrenches for 02 sensors/egr tube.

I think thats about it. As for removing the power steering line, you need a special tool to get the line out of the pump because of the ends. We didn't remove the fans either, it probibly would have made it alot easier to get the heat shiled on.

Air tools will make this go alot smoother. Provided your bolts aren't so rusted there is no longer a hex head on them, then you have to cut them off as seen in the earlier pics

OK, I don't have access to air tools, but if I can't do it I'll just get it professionally installed. One more question, I just spent a good chunk of change getting everything from the header to the flex. I don't have a catback yet, but when this header comes I'm going to be itching to get it installed. Will the svt flex bolt up to the rest of my stock exhaust?

well some people used the air ratchet/impact but we did mine with hand tools alone, took about 4 hours...it was a pain but it can be done.

yeah but you have to slot the holes to get it to match up. better off picking up a used svt exhaust though.

Eh, I might wait until I can get a 2.5" trubendz exhaust and bolt it all up at the same time. I try to buy mods when I actually have the cash rather than on credit, but I might make an exception. Need to do it soon though because I don't have a garage and colder weather isn't too far off. Anyone know if you have to slot the holes on the trubendz so it will fit?

^^^Most likely. It's not that big of an issue though. Just grab a cutoff wheel and go to town. I think the only one you won't have to slot would be an SVT kit, but I could be wrong.
