ok finally got released from doc... sorry don't know what happened to my other thread... it disappeared...oh well... here's the link again for the site for build...
i picked that up off of ebay about 3 years ago... still works like new... just a standard silver reverse glow cluster without tach... i did that blue led odometer
mod also...
?...the x3 is a data logger.... as for wide band definitely will order one as build wraps up and i get into tuning stages...bought prp early bc of price i got... only reason it was bought so soon....
went by machine shop yesterday snapped some pics while there
and the best of all the screw up...this was supposed to be blue...
dont know how that got confused...oh well it was pretty in red...
for a little while...lol...
not yet....[thumb]
head leaves this week to be ported and polished
yeah too bad valve cover was done wrong color...lol...
screw up somewhere along the way...but it'll will be changed this week...
the guy who is building my motor paints the block and valve cover for free as part of the build...well i guess its not really "free" i would imagine the cost is added in with the engine build but it wasn't an extra charge...
also like stated previously you can do it yourself very cheaply...
just make sure that the valve cover is cleaned extra well before painting it and use a high temp paint. my guy sand blasts all parts before he paints them... not needed but definitely helps paint stay and makes it much faster...getting them clean and prepped is the most pain in the a part...
got hp engine kit in
*complete gasket set
*copper head gasket(most likely will not use)
*wiseco forged pistons 85.0mm 8.5-1 comp ratio)
*ross rings
*performance wrist pins
*clevite main bearings
*clevite rod bearings
*new timing belt
head is at shop getting port and polish as i type...
hopefully a couple weeks left at max
still waiting on getting valves built...
my oem valves were lost in shipping...yay...
so had to send out a new one...prolly got a
couple weeks left on that...
arp head studs are on backorder... yay again...
found somewhere else that has them...if this
lasts to long i may cancel order and re-order
them from other site..
update 3.15.2010:
some pics of engine components that i got in...
should hear something on valves this week
rods should be here any day now...
called about head...said they had one cylinder left to port and polish
then flow test, if all is well on test should ship end of week...
head studs off back order should be here end of week/early next week
hopefully motor can start to be rebuilt in next couple of weeks...
will take pics as motor is updated...
*ignore the construction stuff in the pics...im remodeling my house right now...lol*
funny...thats how i feel right about now...lol...[unsure]
