What the hell is a Mondeo ST24?

Dual citizenship is not the answer. There is much more to. If that was the case, we would have the Renault Clio sitting in the garage here and not in Germany.

You can bring a non US spec car into the states but it's done with a special Visa or the like and usually it's only for 1 year but if you want it here permenantly then you have to have the car EPA and DOT certified and that'll cost a few grand easily so bringing a euro car over is a bit of a costly hassle and IMO isnt really worth it unless you have a deep wallet.

How the heck do you know what a renault clio is, but don't know what a mondeo is? A mondeo is a euro version of a ford contour, or nowadays, it would be the equivalent of a fusion with a tuned up v6, only a much cooler version. Anyway, dual citizenship is the only way you will see any non-u.s. modern car over here. I doubt anyone ever bought 10 of the same car to have the dot test, just to have one car over here.

Yeah the ST24 was a trim upgrade in 97-98 that was basically an appearance package. It wasn't until the 1999 ST200 that the Mondeo received the SVT performance upgrades.

Gotcha. Man that car was nice lookin'. It looked considerably better than a u.s. contour, but then, it was lowered and had a bbk on front n back. Man I wish I coulda scored pics of it.

I dunno if anyone said this or not but I believe 2 door 5 passenger cars aren't very safe, if you're one of the people in the back. It's not possible to get out of the car until the people up front get out, and in some cases that may not be possible. That's my speculation as to why there are so few 2 door cars. IMO a 2 door car should be a 2 passenger car and no more, and those are niche cars. Very few people are willing to commit to being able to carry only one passenger.
