Center Arm Rest

The Center Arm Rest on this car seems to angle down toward the floor. I should think it would be closer to level but the nose of the arm rest is pointing down. Curious..... Any feedback appreciated much.

The question is should the flat surface of the arm rest be level? What are the observations of other Focus drivers? There's two questions now... lol

I know if it's designed like earlier '02 model they are crap inside. Any weight there is supported only by plastic stops that after a while break up to collapse and let the arm not limit at level any more. The stops are even molded hollow to collapse easily, a case of planned obsolescence if I ever saw one. The through shaft that holds it all together is steel but the pivot joints molded onto it come loose from the tower proper and the entire thing then not firm at all, feels broken (because it is). I took mine apart and redesigned and rebuilt it using commonly available hardware store parts to be solid as a rock and now supports lots of weight, I have a tendency to lean on mine a bit.
