Wheel bearings

Anybody ever replace their front wheel bearings? Mine are needing it and I want to know what I may be getting into before I start and get to a point of no return.

In the process of it. Fairly straight forward. You just need 20+ ton press to press out the old and in the new wheel bearings in. This requires you to have a 2nd mode of transport to go into a shop and have it done. That is really the hardest part.

Shop around for the shop doing the pressing. I have found a shop that will do it for $35 a bearing. Pepboys wanted $50 each...

You have to remove the calipers and hang them inside the fenderwell so you don't add any stress to the brakelines, that way when you re-assemble you wont have to bleed the brakes. Pull the disk off, remove the axel bolt, remove axel and hang in the fenderwell. Take the strut off, then you can get to the knuckle. You have to take the knuckle off to press new bearings in it.
