Aftermarket 2din media centre info

Hi guys,

I was wondering if any of you guys had an experience with the double din media centre stereos from china like these ----> http://item.mobileweb.ebay.com.au/vi...d=150942322317

I was looking into getting bluetooth for my 05 focus and thought this might be good,

Any info on how good they are and how easy to install would be very usefull

Thanks in advance

Wayne

Well, wouldnt be my first choice. You will probably see very little support if something does go wrong, that alone would keep me away from it. I take it you are looking for one that does video and and gps?

I know you wont see too much higher of a resolution in a car but thats far from full HD. 480 is standard def lol.

If you have a decent phone, i'd feel more comfortable using it with this double din:

Mate thanks that look really good ,
Bit unsure of how long battery life would be on the iphone ,
Thinking i might just go with a 2din bluetooth compatable unit from a decent brand as they are going for 2-300 on ebay,

Any ideas on what extra plugs and adapters i would need so i wasnt wiring it and had steering control ?
Thanks

for the most part i wouldn't recommend them. i've seen and installed (or attempted to install) quite a few when i was at best buy and was never pleased with them. alot of them are actually slightly bigger than doubledin so they require trimming to the ddin kit to fit and it never really came out quite right.

as far as keeping your steering wheel controls; you'll need a headunit that has a "wired remote" input and an adapter for it. do you live anywhere near a car audio shop? I would recommend going in to one if you can and talk to them about what parts are available. since you have a different AU model the wiring and connections could be different than what we have. so i would hate to recommend a part that will work on the US spec, but not on yours.
