Any tips and tricks to changing? Mine is making a loud noise coming from the belton, sounds like it's a making a loud noise coming from the belt. I just bought the car a few months ago, with 120k. Not sure if it has ever been changed, so I want to go ahead and change it anyway.
Tensioners and idler pulleys are usually the main culprits for making noise if the noise isn't coming from the belt itself. You should change them along with the belt.
I'd make as belt routing diagram before you start (or take some digital pics.)
I recommend Gates parts for both the tensioner and the belt. You'll want to draw out the pulleys and the belt so that you can put it back on correctly if there is not a schematic for the belt located under the hood.
To release tension from the tensioner, use a wrench or a socket if you can fit one on the bolt in the center of the tensioner pulley, and rotate the tensioner. I usually flip the belt off the crank pulley while holding tension off the tensioner.
