Uh, a tightened bolt is under tension not compression, and the tightening act itself is a load. All bolts are intended to preload higher than the highest forces encountered by themselves and other local parts (sleeve, arm). Any load accepted by the sleeve is survived because of the bolt.

Like saying connecting rod bolts take no load, what about the load bearing sleeve (bearing) there? It can't do squat without bolt to hold it all in dimensional integrity.

Go to scrapyard and look at wrecks and see what fails outright there, always the bolt.

tension / compression....

What I was trying to point out was that it doesn't get any shear load from the suspension (unless it's loose)

Sounds like toe creep more than camber.

Might check with one of the Ford vendors, I'm guessing all of the replacement arms avail. would be the 'updated" ones for the Wagon.

If those don't do the trick by themselves, the adjustable bolts would help a bit.

Agree that they're unlikely to "flex" to change camber when cornering, if they did at all it would reduce camber on the outside wheel.

Avoiding excessive toe-in when aligned after the camber adj. helps tremendously in avoiding excessive wear to the inside of the rear tires.
