it's fine. Remember that gauges lie... there will be variations between individual vehicles as well.

What he said. It's ok. Under heavy load aka track use the oil temp will go past the half and near the 3/4 mark. So long as it doesn't get into the 300* mark you are ok.

Don't over think. Just drive it.

It is questions like this that made Ford years ago go to idiot gauges for oil pressure. Years past people complained like you. "my oil pressure is low". It wasn't. Logic tells you if a oil pump is turning slow (idle) that it isn't going to produce as much pressure as when it is doing 3000 RPM. So Ford put idiot gauges in. Now finally Ford put a real pressure gauge in. And soon complainers who know nothing of mechanical things will complain enough that Ford will resort to put idiot gauges back in. Carful what you complain about.

Ford oil pressure gauges are just idiot lights masquerading as gauges.

The SVT oil pressure gauge was a lie, it simply looks to see if the idiot light sensor switch for oil pressure is made, then give the gauge a phony output signal based off RPM. The service manual explains it. it's not a pressure gauge, it's an idiot light with a needle that moves based on RPM.

I bet there is a water temperature component for the new ST oil pressure gauge that tells it to show high oil pressure until the coolant is warmed up.

You're good bro. Mine reads the exact same thing, & mine is still running on the factory oil (meaning it hasn't had it's first oil/oil filter change).

The ST has a real boost and oil pressure gauge. The indicated oil temperature is inferred from coolant temp and oil pressure.

Why you use 270 sweep gauges instead of cheap 90 degree ones like that, the error if any small fall off in pressure is hard to see there. If electric oil pressure then greater error, they are never dead accurate.

Factory gauges usually suck................
