my purchase (used) in August 2012
2004
Focus SVT 5 door
only options not installed was recaro seats and traction control
95,000 miles
$4,500.
It was in need of a couple tires, alignment, struts, new inner and outer tie rods and several other repair items, so this price was indicative of the needed repairs. I spent nearly $2,000 for parts and did most of the work myself.
as of November 2013, I was in an accident and totaled my car when it had approximately 115,000 miles. Insurance valued my car at $8,400. Adjuster did considered I put in a newly rebuilt motor approximately two months after I purchased the car, I only got credit of about $600 for the $3k of rebuilt motor, new starter, etc... that was all replaced....
Got mine in August 2013. Paid 3750 for it. Came with a set of snow tires on factory EAP wheels and a full other set of aftermarket wheels and tires as well as a aftermarket stereo, sub, and amp. Seller also included the factory six disc changer and sub package which got promptly reinstalled to get rid of the aftermarket sub box which weighed like 100lbs. I'm sitting at 178,000 miles right now. It also had the eibach sport system shocks struts and springs which are nearly worn out. I've got a full Ford Racing package from Massive fully assembled and ready to install. The car has literally every option I think Ford offered for them including heated seats and moonroof. The only thing I know it doesn't have is the block heater.
If you've got heated seats, you have a block heater. The package was called "the cold weather package". It included the heated seats, block heater and traction control.
Too be honost I had no idea these SVTs even existed until my 1995 Ford Escort was totaled by a careless driver.
Started car shopping and it just so happened that it was for sale. It was a 1 owner trade-in.
Fell in love with it the moment I saw it.
Then didn't want to drive it as a daily driver once I found out how rare and cool it was and bought the white 2001 as my daily driver...HA!
Only paid 1,800 for it. KBB was 2,300 plus the white one has service records from the time it got it's first oil change at 3K miles until the lastest oil change at 156,000. Oil is still clear. [grinking]
I have 3 cars, 2 in the garage that haven't ever seen snow. So I'm sol on driving the SVT. There's a number that you can call to get your cars build number. I'll have to find it for you.
I paid 7000$ for a showroom condition 2004 Screaming Yellow EAP 5 door 120000 June of 2012. Car was perfect inside and out. Bought it from svtperformance classified. I probably paid too much but I was ok with that because the car was literally showroom condition. Stock everything with weathertech floor mats front and back, custom SVT floor mats under those even in the trunk area, Gas shocks on the hood riveted in was a very nice touch, hid's are crystal clear like new. Clutch was weak when I bought it but I didn't care because I would have replaced a healthy clutch with a CMstage3 anyway. Adding a supercharger which needs LSD and good clutch.

It was a little rough and has been wrecked so it was kind of out of whack too. I had to replace the driver fender and the bumper and a lot of clear coat was coming off around the car but i only paid 2,000
Hey thanks man. Just for the record I have a good friend who is hooking me up. He's going to tune it for me. We're going over details on what I need/want to do first before hand.
I feel pretty good knowing the shop I'm taking it to isn't going to rip me off.
2003 Screamin' Yellow SVT EAP 91,712 miles
Paid $4,700
Some body scratches and hood chips. Passenger door has a crease halfway up. Front bumper has a good scrap on it too.
Mechanically it is very sound.
at ~85,000 the following was replaced
- Timing belt
- water pump
- variable cam pulley
- accessory belt
- all rubber hoses
- brakes were replaced with stop tech drilled and slotted rotors and pads
- upper motor mount replaced, lower mount was provided
- rear wheel bearings replaced, fronts provided
Clutch is original. Has the black ford racing rims instead of the argent silver. Silver rims were available but one had a crack so I opted to leave them there. Got some other spares such as knockoff projector headlights, spares listed above.
I bought mine two weeks ago today. Very clean in and out, pretty much new looking everywhere. Stock, everything works right, Euro, 2003 w/ 118,000 miles, 33% left on tires. No curb rash on rims. One owner (not counting that she leased it originally, then bought it at the end of the lease), service records from the Ford dealer where she works in the service department. I think that it is a good car, and I paid a premium for it at $5400. She delivered it to me around 90 miles away at that price too.
The worst thing in the interior is fuzz balls on the headliner near the sunroof. I think that an electric beard trimmer will get them.
I could have paid less. I had a strong preference for the Euro seats, and also for the yellow. I'm impressed with how well it goes from 50 to 90 in third when passing in the coastal range. I've seen some sell for more in the Portland area, but mostly for less. Quite a bit less. They are worth surprisingly little, really. My '87 Scrocco is worth way more. It is in a little better (better than new looking) condition though.
While I do agree that it's pretty amazing how cheap you can pick up an SVT for now, these cars are now 10-12 years old...not really collectible (yet), and certainly not new.
Paid 4,600 had 94k miles . Silver 2003 focus svt with European appearance package . Thought I got a nice deal. Seller wanted 4,900 I offered 4,600 . I didn't want to low ball be guy . Car is good shape only down fall is not sure what major service was done . Hopefully timing belt and water pump was done . After second day of ownership had a check engine light come on. I think it's an exhaust leak . Exhaust got louder and it's bone stock. Then driving home today the check engine light went away . Either way having my mechanic look at Tuesday . Either way love the car perfect daily and now I can park the gti . I do want to do some small mods to have her little more peppier, nothing major .
