I have an 03 wagon. I found some rear seats with head rests from an 00 or 01 zx3. The latch point of the zx3 seats is about one inch inboard vs wagoon seats. Anyone have a workaround? Thanks.
Update. Seats look the same but wagon seats backs are one inch wider and latch is off by this amount. Either i move the latches inboard one inch with spacers, or go back to stock. Too tired to decide now.
Pulling back cover on wagon seat found out the frame has a metal section with holes to install three head rests, two sides and one in the middle, lets hear it for world cars. The head rest moves in a black tube that snaps into these holes. I would bet the front tube and rears are the same. The spacing of the rear head rest rods is narrower (12 cm) than the fronts (15 mm) so a head rest swap wont work. I would bet anyone could snag some JY tubes, and pop them into their seats, after cutting a small hole. I wonder in other Ford product head rests have the same spacing as the backs . Both F and R have 12 mm dia posts, the R are smooth, and the fronts are notched.
Want to make the car safer for passengers.
I would post pictures, but need to get a link to " FF picture for dummies" first.
Popped the tubes in the rear seat. Just had to lift the connection on the bottom of the seat, run a screw driver up and through the holes (they angle forward) then cut the fabric. They snap in.
One set of tubes is tight. May have missed slighlty with tube depth. Hard to see when the notch grabs. May have over driven it.
