Wagon Motor Build

Ive got an '02 5 speed wagon, and i believe im ready to build the motor. Anyone have good recommendations for engine builds? Thought about putting a turbo on it in the future.

Purpose/Application for car? DD, Drag Strip, Auto X?

Going turbo is one of those things you really want to decide up front as it can alter your entire build.

Depends on your goals... As far as i'm concerned there is no building a motor one way and then the other... I'd decide whether or not you really are going to turbo or not and go from there... but obviously, your going to want a new exhaust, "cold" air intake(you'll have to throw this out with the turbo, but they are cheap) a toms tune... If your going turbo it's probibly best to rebuild your engine, stronger piston, rods, bearings, I've heard stock cams + toms tune work best with a turbo... If your not going turbo, SVT header, stage 1 or 2 cams, ect... There is really no one size fits all build...

It's my DD, I just want it to be able to get up an go. I've decided to turbo it, I've been looking into new exhaust, how are the fs werks exhaust? I like the sound of them but, I don't know if they help build hp, or work with turbo well. I'm pretty new to focuses. So any feedback definitely helps and I appreciate it.

FSWerks builds great stuff. They have just about everything, including turbo kits.

If you're not tearing down your head & block, they also have turbo kits for stock motors that can add a good amount of power. Their project car (which is for sale) made 210whp with the stage one kit I believe.

Research here and check their website out. Budget accordingly.
