I just picked up a '02 SVTF. It only has 41k miles but it is, obviously, 10 years old and the t-belt has not been changed. Should I go ahead and have it changed or no? It's basically been in and out of storage for most of its life.
Anybody got an idea of how many days it takes in a shop? I probably could do it, but I really don't want to screw it up seeing as how the damage would be astronomically higher in cost than the cost of the belt and install...or at least it seems that way to me.
it should take less than a day. i would personally order a belt, tensioner, and idler as a kit from Steve at Toulsey ford (10% over cost + shipping) and have the shop install that. It is an SVT and most shops dont have knowledge/experience with them.
Yea, I have a guy that was the SVO guy at ford back in the day that works on my SVO. He's kept up with the SVTs since they changed titles. So, i'll let him do it. Thanks everybody!
